... that is the question. What do I have to say that I feel a need to share with anyone who stumbles across this page? After all my work is bound by confidentiality so there's a lot that I cannot write about. But then reading the blogs of a couple of friends and fellow counsellors made me think that perhaps this could provide an opportunity to explore some of the thoughts that come up about the therapeutic process, ideas that there's just no time to look at in supervision, things that you might discuss with a friend. I guess I could jot them down in a notebook or a journal, but that would give no chance for discussion and I realise that dialogue is what I'm hoping for.

Always intrested in the counsellors process when working with clients.
ReplyDeleteWhat we feel about clients. I can give you an example of this.
Working with someone I really dont like but still having a relationship with them on some level which from what they tell me is really helping them to cope with life.
What is my process when I am working with this person?
Just by sight they remind me of someone from the past and even the clients manner I struggle with, this is all cheaked out in supervision and held.
To change the subject, I find it easier to share client work from the past, like a few months ago etc. No need to use names or even where you worked with this person.
I have enjoyed reading what you have to say and I look forward to reading more. See you soon!
